How do I install Crowned Extensions?

We highly recommends consulting a licensed professional when installing hair extensions. Crowned Hair is typically used for long term use (Sew-Ins, U-part wigs, etc.)

 

How often should I wash my Crowned Hair Extensions?

Crowned Hair Extensions should be treated as your natural hair and washed regularly to maintain its healthy state. Shampoo, condition and moisturize your hair often. Be sure to brush out all tangles before you wash your hair or go to sleep at night. When there is too much built up of products on your extensions they become unmanageable to style.

 

How do I wash my hair extensions?

You can wash them as you would your own hair. Always use Shampoo first and then apply a generous amount of conditioner from top to bottom. We also recommend using hair treatments on them every few weeks, since the hair is not attached to your scalp it is not receiving all the essential oils it should be. Using hair treatments/masks will help keep them looking healthier and nourished a lot longer! Depending on how often you wear your hair extensions, and how much styling products you use, you will find that you won’t need to wash your extensions too often, about every 2-3 weeks.

Anyone who wants to enhance the length, volume and overall appearance of their own hair can wear hair extensions. Hair extensions are safe for men, women, and children. Hair Extensions are a fabulous choice for anyone that wants to achieve a versatile look without damaging their natural hair.

 

Can I color my extensions?

Yes, Crowned Hair extensions are capable of accepting color change and can be lifted or dyed to your desired color/ tone. We recommend getting them colored at a professional and experienced hair colorist who has previous experience working with hair extensions.  We would advice for a strand to be tested prior to coloring the full bundle to make sure the resulting shade is what you anticipate.

 

Can I straighten Crowned Hair Extensions?

Yes. You can straighten, blow-dry, curl, and style human hair extensions, just as you would your own hair.

 

What products can be used on Crowned Hair Extensions?

Choose high quality products specifically formulated for dry and damaged hair, as they will keep the strands healthy and nourished. Heat protectant sprays, serums and any other leave-in conditioners or treatments are also highly beneficial and will prolong the lifespan of your Crowned Hair Extensions.

 

Can I sleep in my Crowned Hair Extensions?

Yes, we recommend sleeping in a silk bonnet or on a silk pillow case to prevent dryness and tangling. Specifically, curly textures it's best to put hair into a braid to preserve moisture and prevent tangling.

 

Can I apply heat to my Crowned Hair Extensions?

Yes, virgin hair extensions should be treated just as you would treat your natural hair. Before blow drying, flat ironing, etc. use thermal shield products to protect your hair form damaging heat.

 

How do I care for my extensions daily?

When combing or brushing your extensions, start the process by coming or brushing form the bottom to the top. This will prevent unnecessary snagging and shedding. Be sure to apply any light leave-in conditioners to prevent dryness which could lead to tangling.
